I love using the white watercolour pencil to create the appearance of moonlight! It kinda lends itself to a rather soft almost melancholy look. Bright Wishes is a beautiful stamp set to obtain that ambiance. Night has an interesting ability to take away colours and lend itself to the mood. Maybe not a lot of work but nevertheless affective.
I must say a white watercolour pencil is something I had somewhat protested to. Any good watercolourist would tell you no I do not use white I use the paper to create my white. So I decided to move beyond the bounds of watercolour and try my watercolour pencil as like a pastel pencil and use white on a darker paper a common pastel technique and I love the harmony of it. Yay for versatility!!!!
This is a very simple monotone card. The stuff I’m showing for the transition to the new 2016/2017 catalog is retired. In this case the stamp set Serine Silhouettes. If I were to do it again I would put a strip of the silver satin ribbon flat along side the diagonal score lines. I think the bow is a bit too much. This card is for all occasions depending upon what you write inside but I see it as a gentle kinda good for a sympathy card maybe without the bow. Anyway stamp set and diagonal score board are retired everything else is available. I think for the upcoming year I plan to use retired stuff more frequently whereas in past I’ve avoided them. I’m realizing not all my customers are interested in buying stuff to make cards, but would rather buy cards from me. And I’m totally ok with it.
This is a CASE of a card which Angela McKay used in her online workshop with a few minor changes. The SAB freebies in this one are the Wildflower Fields DSP, the metallics glitter tape which I cut a heart out of, the botanicals vellum stack and the main feature is the pedal pushers stamp set. The colour scheme is simple whisper white, basic black, smoky slate and blushing bride.
